Milla is a Senior Catalyst and Chief Learning Officer at the RRI (Rapid Results Institute). She has been actively involved in the Institute’s work on Veteran and Youth homelessness in the USA, coaching teams in several cities, including Marion County, OR; Spokane, WA; Pierce County, WA; and Denver, CO. She has also supported teams that introduced RRI’s 100-Day Challenges in Kenya, Nepal and the United Arab Emirates. Currently, Milla leads the development of the RRI’s coach training curriculum and continues to design and update curricula for 100-Day Challenge events, including a new leadership development program for system leaders.
Prior to joining the RRI team, Milla’s work focused primarily on transformations in food and nutrition systems, including co-founding and directing the Southern Africa Food Lab, a multistakeholder initiative to facilitate innovation for food and nutrition security in South Africa. Milla also served as Principal Policy Analyst at the Development Bank of Southern Africa, Professor in Human Nutrition at Stellenbosch University in South Africa and Nutrition Advisor at the World Bank, in Washington DC.
Born and raised in South Africa, Milla holds Doctorate and Masters degrees in Family Ecology from Michigan State University, a Masters degree in Transpersonal Psychology (Ecopsychology) from Naropa University (Boulder, CO), and Bachelors and Honors Bachelor degrees from Stellenbosch University. Milla has authored and co-authored several papers in scholarly and professional publications. She lives in Portland, Oregon.
