I am currently employed through the West Virginia Coalition to End Homelessness as a Housing Stabilization Case Manager. I facilitate a Permanent Supportive Housing program through the Coalition primarily based in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. This is a recent change for me, being that up until February 1st, I facilitated the Rapid Re Housing Program in 8 counties of WV. I have a Bachelors in Social Work through Shepherd University and my Masters in Social Work through Walden University. While pursuing my degrees, I completed my internships at the Behavioral Health Unit, The West Virginia Coalition to End Homelessness and through a Private Practice performing Cognitive Behavioral therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy on individuals. Through my position with the Coalition, I locate landlords and then perform all necessary tasks to ensure that their unit passes all inspections mandated by the grants we utilize. From there, we place the client or client system into the unit and I perform housing stabilization case management with them throughout their stay in the program. Housing stabilization case management includes all psychosocial need related to housing stability; medical, mental health, mainstream benefits, income services and employment. Due to the demographic in the Eastern Panhandle, I have experience with a variety of substance abuse related issues as well. Community advocacy and education are vital to my role with this agency, so I am very involved in community task forces and other community advocacy events. I am passionate about ending homelessness in the state of West Virginia and am excited to be able to share that passion with everyone in attendance!
