LaToya Young is the Housing Systems Coordinator at the DC Coalition Against Domestic Violence. With over 12 years of experience, Ms. Young provides technical assistance and support to local and national project partners and community based organizations offering supportive services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault throughout the metropolitan area. She supports domestic violence advocates in identifying housing options and navigating the housing system, as well as providing technical assistance to service providers seeking resources for their clients. Ms. Young works with landlords, providing training and education on housing rights for victims and trauma informed supports when working with survivors. Ms. Young also works as a project partner with the National Alliance for Safe Housing and has presented nationally on her innovative work building effective partnerships to house victims and best practices in survivor centered scattered site housing models. She has worked with and trained landlords and community organizations on best practices and laws related to domestic violence, fair housing, and safe housing. She is a proud fifth generation, native Washingtonian and works with a strong passion and purpose to help others.
