My name is Crystal Mitchell and I serve as a Clinical Case Management Supervisor of Community Support Services (CSS) at Community Behavioral Health (CBH), a managed care behavioral health organization in Philadelphia. After obtaining my Bachelor’s degree@ Immaculata University and Master’s Degree at LaSalle University in Clinical Counseling Psychology, I have been on a continuous journey of 20 years working in the behavioral health and homeless community. My experience has ranged from behavioral health and substance abuse case management, individual therapy, working with Housing First Teams, crisis work, and managing Psychiatric Rehabilitation supports for Permanent Supportive Housing. I remain an active member in my community and my mission in life is to improve the behavioral health and homeless community and help those that remain vulnerable.
Currently, I manage a team that oversees a community-based services for individuals residing in Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH). This concept of PSH is centered on the idea that an individual can live in his or her choice of permanent, quality and affordable housing, while being linked with voluntary, flexible and individualized services focused on obtaining and maintaining housing.
