Commander David Lazar is in his 27th year as a member of the San Francisco Police Department. During his time in the Department, Commander Lazar has worked in Patrol, Investigations, Administration and the Special Operations Bureau in a variety of assignments. In 2004, he developed the Operation Outreach Program for the Department where officers were specifically designated to work with the homeless and partner with city agencies to provide assistance to those in need. In 2018, Commander Lazar implemented the Healthy Streets Operations Center, a multi-city agency collaborative approach to address the homeless issue in San Francisco. Commander Lazar holds a Bachelor's Degree in Project Management from St. Mary's College.
