Alyson has worked in the public sector on homelessness and housing for the last 12 years. Her work began at the New York City Department of Homeless Services with street outreach. She then moved on to working on shelter program design, and spent the last few years implementing of federal policy on the local level managing the CoC as the lead agency and HMIS lead. She has co-chaired NYC’s initiative to end veteran homelessness since March 2014. In March 2015 Alyson began working at the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development as the Director of Policy in the Special Needs Housing Division. There she focuses on interagency initiatives to house formerly homeless households and also oversees a team administering 47 Continuum of Care grants and a variety of rental assistance programs. She holds an MPA and an MSSW from Columbia University and an LMSW from the state of New York.
